I know that it is never seemly to force humour from tragedy. However, owing to my sometimes rather twisted (and sometimes quite puerile) perspective on life, I offer this story and video for your discernment. Without apology, I will admit that I laughed uproariously.
That middle name leads to all kinds of possibilities, Lorne.
ReplyDeleteIt kind of suggests the role phonics still plays in society today, Owen.
DeleteLorne, San Francisco, California television station KTVU-TV are a bunch of idiots. I will not be surprised if they did it on purpose.
ReplyDeleteThe should have thought about Anthony Weiner of N.Y. and House speaker Boehner (Boner) and make fun of them.
LeDaro, I just found this as the official explanation:
DeleteThe National Transportation Safety Board late Friday issued its own apology for “inaccurate and offensive names that were mistakenly confirmed” to KTVU Channel 2 as those of the pilots of Asiana flight 214, which crashed at San Francisco International Airport on Saturday.
The statement said that an NTSB summer intern, in response to the station’s inquiry, “acted outside the scope of his authority when he erroneously confirmed the names of the flight crew on the aircraft.”
Lorne, my friend I agree with you. I was not criticising you at all. Some anchors of small t.v. stations do such things on purpose.
ReplyDeleteFeel free to criticize anytime you'd like, LeDaro. I always enjoy a good discussion. :)
