Here Is The Super Bowl Ad GM Didn't Want You To See

Despite their best efforts to block it, it still ran:

    1. I enjoyed its succinct nature as well, Owen. It is a message people need to hear, and make their purchasing choices accordingly.

  2. As I read it, if you're looking at a GM vehicle and the first number on the VIN is 3, it's made in Mexico.

It sounds parochial and protectionist but there's a lot of merit in the "if you want to sell here you had better produce here" argument. We have lost sight of how much we have to give up to be a contestant in the neoliberal globalization sweepstakes. The entry fee for the "bigger share of the pie" lottery is substantial compared to the uncertainty of the prize. The contest may be between/among nations but the only sure winner is the corporate sector and that's rigged into the system.

GM claims it has been defamed but I doubt it will allow itself to get dragged into a public relations quagmire lawsuit.

    1. Interestingly, Mound, I was watching NBC Evening News tonight; they reported that 4000 white-collar jobs, in addition to the many blue-collar job losses, have just been announced by GM. They then went on to show an excerpt from the above Unifor ad. I can't help but wonder if the backlash against "Greedy Motors" will grow.
