It is not looking good for the prime minister. It can't help that the Union of BC Chiefs has rallied behind Jody and slammed Liberal insiders who it accuses of sexism and racism. If he had any hope of winning them over for his pipeline, that's pretty much dashed.
It's in the nature of opposition parties to exploit this sort of thing but cracks are now appearing within the Liberal ranks. As far as I'm concerned, a pox on all their houses.
It does sound as though Jody's preparing to come out swinging which could only deepen the rift in the Liberal ranks. It certainly won't help the Liberals hold on to their badly needed seats in BC in the upcoming election. Fortunately, as an outsider, I don't share the frustration and angst of the party faithful. What I regret is that this may play into Scheer's hands at the ballot box.
I wonder if the prime Minister knows his Hamlet, Mound:
“When sorrows come, they come not single spies. But in battalions!”
No doubt, Scheer and the others will make great political hay over all of this, but I am well past the time when my own political leanings can overlook obvious corruption.
.. Ms Wilson-Reybould.. is now officially 'untouchable' Presumably will now sit as an an independant Has legal council.. Trudeau ends up egg all over his face The Lavalin legal voyage is likely looking more positive Is it now compromised, tainted ? Dunno
I think if the plan was for the new Attorney General, David Lametti, to enter into a DPA with SNC-Lavalin, the Liberals have hit a major obstacle in Wilson-Raybould's resignation, Sal.
