The 'Evolving' Story Of Justin And Jody

Evolving is one of those words I have never particularly cared for. It can, and should, of course, most be used when pertaining to the growth and change over time of various forms of life. Too often, however, it is used as a weasel word, one that is employed to try to suggest that the first answer was incomplete rather than a lie. For a good illustration of this tactic, read about Donald Trump's evolving justifications for a border wall.

In the Justin Trudeau SNC-Lavalin Jody-Wilson Raybould imboglio, I believe we are now witnessing a concerted effort on the part of the Prime Minister and his functionaries to 'evolve' their explanation of this sordid business. Consider, for example, what the country's doe-eyed leader had to say just the other day as he engaged in some victim-blaming:

According to this story, Justin was absolutely blind-sided by her unhappiness.

Now, that 'story' has 'evolved':

Presumably, this public admission was prompted by the Trudeau government's fear that Wilson-Raybould's version of events will soon be made known; hence, repeating his denial that he "directed" her on the SNC-Lavalin file would seem to be a safe bet, since she apparently specifically asked him whether this was the case. However, where the story falters and whose spin may give those prone to vertigo some problems is that he said, as shown in the first clip, that she did not express any concerns to him.

The two stories obviously can't both be true, unless we are to believe the question was asked and answered so casually that both went away whistling a happy tune. But for those of us who care to think and are not in the thrall of misplaced party loyalty, common sense dictates that the exchange must have been fuller, with her providing a context for the question (i.e., pressure from the PMO).

So the ostensibly corrupt machinations of the old Liberals continue apace. Somehow, I wonder whether this particular manifestation of diseased morality will ever be fully exposed to the light of day.

  1. .. evolving ? revolving ? dissolving ?

Currently we really only know one story.. with snippets from select spokespersons, and innuendo from so called anonymous 'insiders' plus the Globe & Mail' so called 'report. Has there been a peep from ms Wilson-Reybould ? If not we just have the one story being constantly renovated via the Liberals.. and all the conjecture - so called collect the dots' spinning & fabrications from Andrew Coyne, the rabid 'could be, maybe criminality' howls of Andrew Scheer, the breathless 'and get this' verbals of Evan Solomon and thin veneer of Don Martin lobbings to his CTV panels.. did I forget Rex Murphy or Lord Blackfall of convicted felony .. Deary me we even got Andrew MacDougall, the former spinner for Harper.. what of Laureen, Kenney or Ray Novak ?

I suggest all so concerned, closely examine the activities of one ms Marie Henein, defending her client ex Commander Norman. Talk about 'connect the dots' she is always ahead of the curve. Seems that chain of dots includes one mr Brison who resigned 'to spend more time with his family. Now the dots courtesy of Prime Minister Trudeau say essentially, due to that resignation, Ms Wilson-Reybould needed to be 'shuffled' to Veteran's Affairs. Say what ? There's that chain of dots. Ms Henein demands documents, the government claims are Classified. Bet the farm she requests the sitting judge review such documents under seal or subpoena the following.. my bet is the docs include Ms Wilson-Reybould, Brison, the PMO, the Royal Navy, Procurement Department.. and others, including very high up political persons located in New Brunswick, and several shipyards as well.

    1. When one considers Commander Norman, Sal, that is a whole other magnitude of possible wrong-doing, given allegations of the government directing the withholding of information from the defence. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/mark-norman-breach-trust-henein-1.4942758

As for Trudeau and Raybould, we shall have to wait and see, but I do find it telling how Mr. Trudeau is now giving a rather different picture than his previous pronouncements provided.

    2. .. Michael Harris via the Tyee has nailed down the Lavalin side
Heck, even Andrew finally read the actual law re that
and Christie Blatchford is sniffing down the Henein trail
of how Ms Wilson-Reybould's former Justice Ministry
ties into Scott Brison's sudden resignation

Ms Wilson-Reybould has already lawyered up, gone silent
Scott Brison, among others will do the same.. toute suite
Seems 'more time with the family' will prove contagious
though Brison already has a new employer Bank of Montreal
