For Your Consideration

6 comments:

  1. .. I truly envy the people with the gift of illustration.. Currently the fiasco of Trump & the GOP is churning worldwide. It reminds of some sort of slow cooker with the lid welded on.. each and every effective & accurate media perspective, tv satire or exceptional artwork such as that brilliant sample above - seem like another gas jet has ignited under the huge pot which is flexing, vibrating and distorting from the heat. There's a cumulative social heat building under Trump et al, the White House, Congress, the Senate.. and many many of the agencies therein. The only relief valve if any such thing exists.. is variety of hypocrites, flawed public servants and truly ignorant citizens who are trying to brazenly defend or praise, what is so obviously undefendable, disgraceful and truly dangerous. Trying to tag and track the multitude of distorted Trump surrogates, enablers, complicits, family, lawyers, partners, investors seems amost a losing strategy..

We.. and I do mean 'we' .. need powerful metaphors, shining stars to guide us (artists, poets, writers, performers) and coherent accurate truths and facts in these dangerous & destructive times we live in.. and those who come along with us and must press on after we are gone, deserve a world that serves them as well as the world we currently inhabit.

Donald Trump et al LLC believe they function without liability, consequence or responsibility.. to them their myths, spin, deceit and greed are noble and wondrous.. Charles Darwin would be aghast, then begin studying the worst specimens..

    1. I totally agree with your comments, Salamander. I read a commentary by Jaime Watts this morning suggesting the constant barrage of criticism of Trump is like a boy crying wolf. When something truly egregious happens, such as the firing of Comey, the effect is muted because everything about Trump is constantly criticized.

I strongly disagree with Watt on this; there is no alternative to constantly calling the Orange Ogre to account. Anything less risks his normalization; as you say, everyone has a role to play in this battle.

  2. Salamander has sit right, Lorne. They are the worst specimens. We'll see how long they survive.
