All climate scientists should get this award. If they want a bigger name for the first time, Leonardo DiCaprio could get it for his film Before the Flood, which talks to lots of people who could be awarded this. It's ridiculous how much we are ignoring all the signs to our own peril.
I agree, Marie. Our collective ability to ignore the peril that is quickly engulfing the world is astonishing. The recent news of the unprecedented rate of Arctic melting and the grim worst-case scenarios I have seen leave me quite dispirited about our prospects.

DeleteGuy McPherson is the obvious choice, given their criteria. Somehow I'm sure (and I hope) they find someone else to honour.
ReplyDeleteMcPherson certainly tries to tell it as he sees it, Mound. I'm sure he must deeply offend denialists.
