ReplyDeleteI find alternative news sources quite helpful in this regard, LeDaro. I have a Facebook feed for The Raw Story, and I also have several sites bookmarked, such as Alternet, Truthdig and Truthout, all of which often carry information that rarely makes it to the mainstream media.
DeleteIn contemporary America it's not necessary to be rational to prosper. One merely needs to acquire an adequate constituency and that's fairly easy when, electronically, you can cast a wide net. Alternative media provide characters like Klingenschmitt an electronic forum from which he can attract the low-hanging fruit. It's dirt cheap to produce his sort of programming. Beyond that what does he need save for a post office box and a bank account?
ReplyDeleteWait a minute? Why aren't we getting in on this? You can be Reverend Lorne and I can be the Prophet Mound. We can hire L.D. to spend a few hours a day scouring the Old Testament to find zingers to justify just about anything we want to preach. Two months a year and we can spend the rest lounging on the beaches of Maui.
