ReplyDeleteYes the US has ingrained denial but Canada , and other nations, have a long way to go to accepting the truth.
NO group be they the oppressed or the oppressors are 'clean' of racial dislike or hatred and that includes first nations and other minorities.
It will be an up hill battle to get humanity to see the truth of our past.
That said, Canada has made admirable strides to reconciliation particularly when our southern neighbours strive to deny such.

Agreed, TB. Much work remains to be done, but the fact that we don't strive to be willfully ignorant about our past gives hope for increased progress in the future.
