Apparently, Just An Error In Judgement

I find myself sinking into seemingly irremediable cynicism about the human species. This is but one of the reasons:

  1. .. Astonishing ! !
I know how hard this must hit Educators such as yourself or Owen, my family who are active or retired Teachers, plus I have many friends who would or will be shocked if I dare show them this abject failure & atrocity

Though obviously Canadian.. I recognize myself also as a North American.. and just another person on Spaceship Earth as well. I am not an American. It saddens me to see the American descent into sheer madness.. but it’s the co-related Canadian aspect that truly angers me

I recognize the creeping ideological assault of Jason Kenney, Doug Ford upon Education.. not to mention Healthcare, Environment.. all aided & abetted by foreign controlled Mainstream Media & politically embedded partisan PR entities.. not to mention Evangelical organized Religion

The video reflects ‘Crisis Level’ absurdity.. Radical Intervention Required
This seems a hybrid Education / Healthcare concern/failure.. comorbid

Thanks for posting.. demoralizing as it may seem
we have ‘a need to know’ just how hysterical & shocking the reality is

    1. AS you suggest, Sal, I am disheartened, as I am sure most educators are when such reports emerge. Indeed, every time I read of a teacher's misconduct, I cringe, as we are supposed to be the ones shedding light in the darkness, not aiding and abetting it.

The traditional counterbalances to societal deterioration seem to be breaking down in record numbers, be they educators, faith leaders, or politicians. The other day there was a memorial service held for former Ontario premier Bill Davis. One of the highest tributes given pertained to his decency. That I cannot think of any politician I would give that accolade to today is but one of many indicators of how far our society has fallen.

  2. How did a teacher ever get the idea she could use her position to do this to her charges? When it's shown she does how does the school board treat this as a labour issue? Does her union condone this? Someone is standing up for her. This suggests that anything short of a criminal offence is not cause for dismissal.

This is the sort of outrageous occurrence that has become almost commonplace in the United States. It's a society circling the drain.

When educators succumb to the madness of conspiracy theories and disseminate them among their students, how is that not grounds for immediate dismissal?

    1. I am as perplexed by you, Mound, by the board's response. To call it an error in judgement is tantamount to dismissing gangrene as just a bit of an infection.

But then again, given the steady devolution of the U.S., perhaps the response is not at all surprising. I shall try to see if there is any follow-up on this incident.

  3. Yeah... Cuz I'm sure a teacher has never gone on a rant about Trump to their class... ever.

    1. Transmitting patently false information to kids is a far cry from a rant, Anon. That being said, a rant, even against someone like Trump, would be inappropriate in the classroom.
