More On Our National Embarrassment

I recently posted about our national embarrassment known as Conrad Black, sycophant extraordinaire.

The following, by editorial cartoonist Michael de Adder, was tweeted by Neil MacDonald, who observes.

And a grateful Black is now vigorously pushing back against any idea that the attack on the Capitol was violent. Just high spirited patriots.

  1. Black, the man who aspired to nothing so much as refinement and nobility is now afraid to set foot in the House of Lords and, instead, debases himself behind a cloak of righteous indignation that fools no one except, perhaps, himself. Like Trump, it was all handed to him on a platter and, again like Trump, he ends his life in disgrace. Black was pardoned by an utterly unprincipled man and perhaps that is why he goes to such laughable lengths to exalt Trump. At the end of the day his pardon is a gimmick, coming from the same president who pardoned the likes of Flynn, Manafort and Roger Stone. Black is reduced to the measure of those miscreants. Apparently, at some time tomorrow, their moral leper colony's numbers will swell with another hundred reprobates, blackguards and political hustlers. It's not the House of Lords but, hey, what's a down and out felon to do?

    1. With his pardon, Black is clearly in the company of a real rogue's gallery of dishonour, Mound.

    1. Black is certainly the poster boy for that truth, Owen.
