An item in today's Guardian suggests the Brits, or at least the Scots, are taking the pandemic seriously. An MP from Scotland has been arrested and charged for traveling, in violation of government restrictions, just after testing positive last September. It has taken several months to lay charges. That said, she knew she was positive and traveled regardless. What we're learning about our own errant MPs and MLAs suggests we also need clear, enforceable restrictions that are backed up with criminal penalties. The law has long accepted that people of influence and high authority are to be held to a higher standard. Throw'em in jail for a few months - per encourager les autres!
