That seems to be the attitude of Ann Gray, another former Harper appointee, on her and her husband's lavish 'fact-finding' trips, which cost the taxpayer plenty. She regards the fuss as much ado about nothing, seeing the trips as a 'thank you' for her unpaid time sitting on the Blue Water Bridge Canada crown corporation.
Rarely has a volunteer done so little for so much, some might say.
Lorne, it is incredible. Too much corruption on the highest level within the federal government. Every day seems to bring new revelations. We all know what is going in the Senate - most of the corrupt Senators appointed by Harper. And now other agencies of the federal government as well.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is about time to abolish the Senate but it is not going to be easy given our constitution and then extensive reform in other government agencies is needed.
A good beginning will be to get rid of Harper and his government come October of this year. Too much needs to be done and a new government, if sincere, will have a lot on its plate.
The key phrase you use here, LD, "if sincere," is vital; otherwise it wil simply be business as usual under a new party.
DeleteI wonder if she reported the value of these junkets to Canadian Revenue on her returns? She admitted that the last trip, for $21,000 was a parting gratuity. I'm pretty sure that's taxable.
ReplyDeleteGood point, Mound, but I think the CRA is too busy these days carrying out audits on Harper's 'enemies' to spare the personnel to investigate.
