Breaking With Tradition

... there were no reports of Dean Del Mastro breaking down in tears, a first for the former star of the Harper regime. Perhaps knowing that he will only serve one week in jail for his crimes lightened his mood.

  1. Lorne, that seems to be the story of Harper Government. Some of his MP's think that they're above the law. It is similar story in the Senate and most of the senators involved in scandals are Conservatives and even appointed by Harper. It was Harper who was going to reform the Senate. Some reform!

    1. The most infuriating thing about almost all of them, LD, is their absolute refusal to accept responsibility for their misdeeds. Several months ago when he was found guilty by the judge, Del Mastro said "That's her opinion." Similarly, most of the senators who have to pay back money say that no one understands the job of a senator.

So it would seem that in Harperland, the rest of us are just too stupid to understand and appreciate the 'great work' that they do.

    2. LD, recall the "On the Take" Mulroney gang or, better yet, Saskatchewan's little nest of vipers, the government of Grant Devine.

  2. I shall be lobbying to replace the controversial Monument for Victims of Communism next to the Supreme Court in Ottawa with the Stephen J. Harper Sanctuary for Jailbirds. I shall expect your full support, Lorne. Lol

    1. You've got it, Anon. There needs to be a special place for them, in perpetuity.

  3. Lorne: I had asked Mound about the one week jail sentence and he mentioned that he got it here. Where did you see the reduced jail sentence? The CBC link did not say anything about the month long concurrent sentence being reduced to a week only.

    1. I heard it on the radio today, Anon, the CBC, I believe. They said that he would likely serve one week in jail, I guess because of our parole laws.
