More On Voter Suppression

The Globe has some interesting letters today on the voter suppression crimes of the last election. Of particular note is the first one, by an adjunct professor at the University of Victoria, who attended a campaign school presentation in which instructors "made it clear that robo-calling and voter suppression were an acceptable and normal part of winning political campaigns."

If you follow the link, you will notice that three of the presenters have, ahem, rather close ties to the Harper regime. The story keeps getting darker and darker.

  1. Has any journalist contacted the good Prof. to ask what were the voter suppressiion techniques being taught?

It would be interesting if they turned out to be illegal (like the robocalls under investigation).

BTW, noticed David Akin was one of the presenters. Is he no longer even pretending to be an unabiased journalist? lol

  2. I was hoping, since the Globe published the letter, that they might do some followup, but I just noticed they have an article by Eric Grenier suggesting that voter turnout was higher in the ridings that experienced voter suppression, the subtext, I guess being that there is nothing to see here, move on. But that argument seems irrelevant, since crimes were committed.
