Truth In Advertising

I don't know why, but I find something extraordinarily appealing about this campaign. The cynicism it has engendered, however, is sad.

  1. I thought of a response. Then I thought of another. I tried to find something that wasn't cynical. No such luck.

  2. .. it intrigues me.. reminds me of Franke James renting bus stop panels in Otttawa near Parliament.. I'm old school Marshall McLuhan school.. technology, culture and artists.. and of course old schol of Hunter S Thompson views

I may appear cynical.. but I see a country.. USA.. seeking more wars for profit.. and unable to get clean water flowing in Flint, or getting Puerto Rico back on its feet. Here in Canada we have an exp PM hatchetman named Harper who is in lockstep with Trump et al.. an MP named Kellie Leitch who is exited about Trump style 'politics' .. The greed, the corruption, the fraud.. is served up with holier than thou horseshit salad with no lettuce.. or tomato... and we get opinion from the likes of Lord Black of nowhereville and daily twaddle from Andrew Scheer.. the official wet paper bag of Formal Opposition

I would actually like to see our economy shrink.. our population too.. and return to more community based 'economics' with bakers busy, farmers busy, irrigation tech and know how exported, not military arms. we need to recover our fisheries, both inland and coastal, recover our logging and secondary industries, keep politics and religion ouf our education systems - from primary to advanced higher learning..

Finally, I believe we need local independant 'un-whipped' MP's.. and start breaking of the cartel style captured parties.. whew ! Was that cynical enough for you? But I liked the video.. thanks !

    1. Thanks for you comments, Sal. They are always welcome. I was reading something about the kinds of candidates Rob Ford has attracted (racists and homophobes, as you would expect), and I was thinking about how much good we could achieve if we had people leading us to our best interests, not our worst instincts. I like to indulge in fantasies periodically.

  3. What did the woman say? Politics these days "appeals to their primitive instincts." Exactly.

    1. And there is no shortage of politicians willing to exploit those instincts, Owen.
