Included in the Trudeau sellout is the following:
- Prepared to indemnify the project from any financial loss;If you aren't outraged yet, I suggest you check your vital signs.
-Is willing to offer this financial security to any company who wants to build the pipeline, should Kinder Morgan back out;
-and, the financial backing must be fair, and beneficial to Canadians.
"If Kinder Morgan isn’t interested in building the project we think plenty of investors would be interested in taking on this project, especially knowing that the federal government believes it is in the best interest of Canadians and is willing to provide indemnity to make sure that it gets done," Morneau said, noting that he is “confident” an agreement will be made.
I want Morneau's car. How much will he pay me to take it.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the amount, rumleyfips, I am sure you will be pleased with the offer he makes. And undoubtedly, it will be in accord with 'the national interest'.
DeleteI took some time, Lorne, to really go over all the Liberal governments I have known - right back to Pearson. There was none that even resembled the current Liberal regime. Had Pearson handed the torch to Justin instead of Pierre, the Liberal Party would have imploded. Today's government is well to the right of former Progressive Conservative governments - Mulroney, Clark, Diefenbaker. It's no accident that today's Liberals so closely resemble the Harper Conservatives. They're of a piece. Harper's overarching goal was to permanently shift Canada's political centre well to the right. Trudeau & Company are proof that Harper succeeded.
ReplyDeleteThe worst Liberal government in living memory. Hands down.,
That so many people believe Trudeau is substantively different from Harper in political ideology sickens me to my soul, Mound. The same thing happened in Ontario. When the Harris/Eves era ended, so many thought Dalton Mcguinty represented the winds of change, but all he turned out to be was Harris with a smile.
DeleteFinancing dried up for KM when the construction costs doubled to over 9b. KM is looking for an out that will satisfy shareholders. Trudeau et. al. are very wrong on this.
ReplyDeleteUH
That Team Trudeau will be spending Canadians' tax dollars to bring succor to shareholders should be a source of outrage for all, UH. Never have I been so deeply offended by my government bending over for private interests.
