An Explanation For Baird's Departure?

Ed Tanas has perhaps hit upon the reason for the pitbull's pending egress from federal politics:

John Baird resigning due to PTED (Post Traumatic Egging Disorder)?

Or could it be this, which Ed also sent along? (Satire alert!)

And the National Post's John Ivison speculates that it may be that he is being pushed.

  1. Never look a gift horse in the mouth, they say. Thus .... 1,2,3 .... GOOD RIDDANCE.

This guy not only was obnoxiously partisan while working for Closet Leader, he was also in the Mike Harris government who, if you recall, wanted to send panhandlers to jail.

Now he is eligible to collect his pension at 55 while some desperate Canadians have to wait till 67 to collect their measly OAS. Disgusting.

But, one fewer rat on the sinking ship. Hooray.

    1. You are absolutely right, Anon. One down, far too many to go. Unfortunately, the next few days will likely see so much praise for Baird that perhaps Pope Francis should be queried as to the possibility of a canonization.

  2. Could get really interesting given the timing....
"The date of the by-election is determined by the Governor in Council (the Governor General, acting on the advice of Cabinet). The by-election must be called between the 11th day and the 180th day after the receipt by the Chief Electoral Officer of the document sent by the Speaker of the House advising of the vacancy. The Canada Elections Act (section 57) specifies that the election period must last a minimum of 36 days; it does not specify a maximum."

    1. If there is a loophole (or not) through which Dear Leader can wiggle, Rural, trust him to do so.

  4. Baird did nothing signifigant in foreign affairs, in fact he sabotaged Canada in the international stage History will not be kind to him. I hope this is the beginning of the end for Harper. How many CONS is that now that have stepped down?

    1. Baird's legacy, Pamela, as Harper's international bully boy, is that he debased all Canadians who hold traditional values of compassion and fairness.

I'm not sure of the numbers, but those who are deserting the Good Ship Harper are many indeed.
