Food For Thought

H/t Canadians Rallying To Unseat Stephen Harper

  1. Yes, I think this is true, but I also think there is fear. If you have a young family and you are a bread winner, are you going to risk their meals and roof to perhaps be imprisoned? How long did those arrested in Toronto during the G-20 remain imprisoned? What toll did that take?

But I think the lack of civil discourse keeps people out. I am sickened and sometimes downright scared by the comments on some news sites.

    1. I agree with you on both counts, Karen. However, one need not risk arrest by being involved, which, probably most importantly, means keeping oneself as informed on issues as possible; the chances of casting a wiser ballot is thereby increased. As well, without being overbearing, one can communicate with friends and associates concerns over government policy, etc.
