“AMERICA IS A GUN” by Brian Bilston
England is a cup of tea.
France, a wheel of ripened brie.
Greece, a short, squat olive tree.
America is a gun.
Brazil is football on the sand.
Argentina, Maradona’s hand.
Germany, an oompah band.
America is a gun.
Holland is a wooden shoe.
Hungary, a goulash stew.
Australia, a kangaroo.
America is a gun.
Japan is a thermal spring.
Scotland is a highland fling.
Oh, better to be anything
than America as a gun.

Thanks, TB. I'd recommend Americans see it, but I doubt they would understand the satire.
DeleteI more or less fell across The Rational Nationalist a few days ago and sent one or to links here. He is fiendishly clever at finding damning videos among other things he does.
ReplyDeleteI'd highly recommend having a look at the first video he references in this broadcast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcE7DawqtcA.
I am pretty sure that Stalin or Mao did not demand this level of sycophancy . I am surprised Trump's cabinet ministers do not do a full Byzantine prostration and kiss his foot before speaking.
Not sure about Mao but Stalin was known to allow considerable argument in STAVKA meetings and even agree with the counter arguments.
Thanks, Anon, although watching the Trump cabinet love fest did challenge the stomach contents of my recently-consumed meal.
DeleteOOPS sorry, I should have given a viewer warning. I saw it a little while before dinner but, come to think of it, I did not eat everything on my plate.
DeleteApology accepted, Anon. These are times that challenge even the strongest of constitutions.
DeleteI just looked at AnonymousAugust 29, 2025 at 6:29 PM's link. After picking my self off the floor, I suddenly realized just how serious the satire was. If anything it was a warning.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately most people in the USA are deaf.
It is truly a film that warrants viewing, Anon.
