Is it time for JT to take a "walk in the snow"? Is there anyone who doesn't see that the GST holiday is a gimmick by a prime minister who is out of ideas and has no sense of direction? He fired Freeland, probably to entice Carney to come aboard, leaving his Deputy Prime Minister no choice but to save grace by pretending to resign.
An absolute mess, Mound. I know that Poilievre will now be calling for an immediate election, and probably most Canadians will agree. Unfortunately, it will only result in another government that will have very few ideas that will benefit all, and the cycle will begin anew.
RE, He fired Freeland, probably to entice Carney to come aboard,.
I cannot see Carney offering coloured beads and mirrors to appease the voters, that was likely Trudeaus idea and was rejected by Freeland hence her departure! I doubt we have seen the last of C Freeland , she's a smart lady with ambition. She may well be the one tasked with rebuilding the Liberals' after the next election.
Agreed, TB. Her story is not at an end. Soon, the party will have to get over the magical thinking that a new leader will save them in the present moment.
My hope is for a Liberal resurrection, not because I am a Liberal but because I think a three party ,or more, state can remain moderate in it's decisions. Trudeau's biggest failure is that he could well give us a two political party system mirror of the USA! FFS, please say no.

ReplyDeleteWhat a mess.

DeleteWhat a mess and at what might turn out to be the worst possible moment. I don't think history will be kind to Justin Trudeau.
ReplyDeleteHe has befouled his legacy by staying on past his best before date, Mound, just like Biden. Trudeau's narcissism has done him in.

I think all parties, to remain relevant, need to have periods of renewal and ultimate resurrection, TB. Otherwise, they wither away and die.
