A PSA From The FBI

I can't imagine living in a country where this kind of Public Service Announcement is necessary.

And on a slightly different note, we now know why "thoughts and prayers" aren't working.

  2. During a continuing medical issue i was asked by acquaintances at my local gym; Do you believe in the power of prayer?
I replied NO , I believe in the science my Doctor prescribes!
When the science of the day does not provide the necessary results then they go back to the drawing board .
    Not so with prayers .
Prayers are an example of the age old doing the same old thing time over time and expecting different result!
    It's called stupidity..
    Particularly in the USA!

Probably every school board it the USA has one. Did you know you can buy armour inserts for school backpacks now? Obscene is far too weak a word.

Texas, as of 2023-04-03, had legislation in the House that would mandate "First Aid Training" of all Grade # students. The kicker is that at least one commentator who sounds as if he knows what he is talking about, says the course is basically a combat medic's course.

Let's talk about Texas, training, and too much....

If you want to see something really amusing in a warped way have a look at Global Affairs Travel Advisories and compare the USA to France. France is dangerous!.

    2. I checked out the links, Anon - powerful stuff! And it would appear that Global Affairs is dangerously out of touch in its assessment of travel to the U.S.

  6. I was in El Salvador four years ago where the violence was concentrated areas where there was gang warfare.
Within the US the violence is random and unpredictable.
There is something wrong with a country that allows open carry of long guns and concealed carry of handguns for no other reason that you can!
In El Salvador those carrying guns were police or private security to counter the gangs not crazy individuals suffering road rage..
The US has normalised gun violence ; it's become acceptable.

    1. I do feel for those sane Americans who would like gun laws reformed, TB. However, as you point out, gun violence has become normalized there, and, of course, the power of the NRA seems to supersede that of legislators who also have an innate conflict of interest on the issue, given that so many of them are so lavishly funded by that pernicious lobby group.
