I think Rockstrom is throwing in the towel. As time runs out, conditions worsen, becoming evere more intractible, and the will of governments, leaders and the rest of us wanes. Next up is Nouriel Roubini's latest book, MegaThreats, in which he delves into 10 major threats to the continuation of human civilization over the next 20 years.
