According to a Huffington Post survey, more than 60 per cent of Albertan respondents backed Neil Young's condemnation of the tarsands; as well, an Edmonton Journal online poll found more than 70% approval for his comments.
That has got to be an encouraging sign.
I don't want to bother you with too many comments but I feel Harper works for oil companies and big business. People in general can take a hike.
ReplyDeleteBesides "Silence of the Labs" I have been watching discussions on Power and Politics of CBC. The so-called parliamentary secretaries, who appear on the show, constantly talk about prosperity and that Tar Sands will bring prosperity for whole of Canada. Harper is bent upon developing Tar Sands.
Your comments are always most welcome, LD. While I agree that Harper cares nothing for people in general, my hope is that people in general will begin to see through the constant barrage of propaganda from him and his operatives so that come the next election, they will be able to make an informed decision and send him and his cabal packing.
ReplyDeleteYes, unfortunately many who make up that 60% also vote Conservative or Wild Rose which suggests they're not that upset over the tar sands.
ReplyDeleteThen again, Mound, perhaps some of them are capable of some new understanding which could give them pause at the next election,
