Progress Or Politics?
If you start the following video at about the 5:30 mark, you will hear a surprising answer from Conservative MP Braid Braid when asked by Evan Solomon if the Harper government believes in climate change.
50-to-70 billion dollars in infrastructure funding over 10-years isn't much when the best expert minds we have put the cost of infrastructure upgrades and repairs at upwards of a trillion dollars. We need a coherent, federal-provincial initiative that identifies targets and how we'll reach them and then works out the cost and how we'll meet that. What we know is that, if we don't make these investments, the cost will be far greater.
