UPDATED: Uh, Uh. Trudeau Enthusiasts Won't Like This

Start at the 1:40 mark to see what I mean. To whet your appetite, here are some viewer comments:

What an awesome way to drop that Saudi Arabia thing. Hasan's show just keeps getting better and better.

The look on his face after that question! He thought they were gonna joke about his cool socks!

Canada selling weapons of mass death to Saudi Arabia is them just following Americans lead.

Trudeau is the Canadian Obama. They both campaigned as progressives but as soon as they got in they turned into conservative establishment centrists who cater to the status quo and big oil.

This has got to be the worst condemnation of msm journalists today, they got upstaged by a comedian.

UPDATE: The Star's Venay Menon offers his take on the interview:
When I was a kid, this one time we were driving through Pennsylvania late at night when a fawn suddenly appeared in the headlights of our station wagon. Since my father maddeningly drove under the speed limit — and there was no traffic on the interstate — he was able to brake without incident. But that adorable creature just stood there for a good 30 seconds, motionless, unsure of what to do next.

It seemed so helpless and lost in the chaos.

I was reminded of it while watching Netflix’s Patriot Act With Hasan Minhaj on Sunday. Trudeau might as well buy himself a pair of antlers and a bushy tail before Halloween. Just based on the moments of awkward silence and the reaction shots in which he looked absolutely paralyzed with fear, he was that fawn.

What Trudeau’s inner circle probably didn’t realize when it thought this interview — and global exposure via Netflix — was a great idea was that much of the really damning material would come from taped segments. In between clips of Minhaj’s sit-down with Trudeau, the comedian also blitzed his in-studio audience with facts, observations and timelines that portrayed Trudeau as a scandal-ridden leader who speaks out of both sides of his mouth. The show went after Trudeau over the SNC-Lavalin scandal. It raised the issue of ethics violations. It more or less called Trudeau a fraud on the environment. It condemned him over Canada’s arms sales to Saudi Arabia.
Venon concludes that regarding the Trudeau cachet, the bloom is off the rose. I agree wholeheartedly.

  1. At least at the end he clarifies that the Liberals are STILL the better choice!

  2. .. I have been commenting elsewhere recently.. and explaining the nature of conundrum.. I believe it is at the heart of our archaic political systems, captured government and outdated failing Parliament.. i will get back to you.. Ideally with comment on corruption, lobbying and sellout as well

  3. .. a certain Simon of a Montreal kind of moniker has evolved quite a crew of commenters happy to insult two Canadian women endlessly for, uh, well (paraphrasing here) backstabbing ego tripping glory hound disloyal swineherd cows.. and worse.. for daring to challenge 'the dauphin' and stepping out of bounds of 'caucus loyalty'.. and well - lots of other quite imaginative names and insults.

Its just hyper partisan shrieking.. and yes yes.. they must have a secret deal with Hamish and Andrew Scheer.. Deary me - the 'fake scandal'

I recognized 'conundrum' right away.. In that same bolt of lightning & horses neighing a la Young Frankenstein I also recognized 'captured government' - But let's consider conundrum. There could really be no winner, certainly not Justin Trudeau, Gerald Butts et al and that former Privy Clerk and a former Secretary of The Treasury, Scott Brison who bounded off to spend more time with his family but ended up suddenly joining Bank of Montreal.. to look after their conflated conundrum interests with (wait for it) Lavalin .. But I'm also dirt certain - facing conundrum, Ms Wilson-Reybould was going to lose out to Lavalin and the boat anchor weight of some 50,000 employees and all their dependents, the pensioners and the communities built up around the Lavalin world, the grocers, gas stations, teachers, bakers, hairdressers, butchers.. hardware stores.. and so on.

    This is conundrum..

This is what faces Trudeau re Alberta pipelines and 96% of 'all that wealth in the ground' - aka - 'the vast oil reserves of Canada' - yes.. its true.. 'all that oil' is actually Bitumen found only in (you guessed it) the place formerly known as The Tar Sands of Alberta. Think 'conundrum as boat anchor' .. chained to one leg as you cling to a fake majority after defeating Stephen Harper.. who attached two similar boat anchors to his own legs, and clung to his own false majority and unelected Ray Novak, 'won' by vast and extreme Election Fraud - Live & Robo driven..

This is the situation Jason Kenney has crawled into to regain some glory.. or possibly some status while Trudeau rules the federal syndrome or symptom or So Called Parliament. Kenney of course is unelectable federally as Primo Minister - lacking a wife n kiddies.. or even a girlyfriend (Kellie Leitch, Jenni Byrne, Senator Batters being hardly suitable options ! I don't blame him!!)

We have am 'Honorable' Tony Clement - wienie wagger who somehow lost touch with 50 million $$$ of 'Border Security' funds.. that became fake lakes and gazebos, entrusted to him by Johnboy Baird who shared a closet with Harper, Laureen & her senior RCMP officer & lover and a chinchilla seemingly.. And we have (or are burdened with) Mainstream Media not owned by any Canadians like PostMedia who are so toxically partisan it defies belief..

It almost defies belief.. No wonder we end up with 'candidates' like Pierre Poilievre or Rob Anders or Sam Oosterhoff.. what other people could thrive in such toxic rancid environment.. you need to be capable of swimming in paint thinner as well as battery acid just to qualify.. like Ms Lisa Raitt has shown.. and Andrew Scheer

Lorne, one no longer needs to be an exemplar to have a career in Canadian politics.. one needs to be a crustacean able to withstand the toxic environment of conundrum, myriad & mysterious issues of sexuality & closetry, the batterings of endless lobbyists, and the hauntings (which is a topic for another day.. the hauntings - like where did James Moore CPC or Scott Brison Liberal actually go & why !!!)

    1. There is no doubt, Sal, that politics is peopled with bottom-feeders of all stripes. Whenever they are exposed, there is an opportunity to clear the air and look for something better, except better never does seem to materialize, does it?
