Who Is Really Running The Show In Ontario?

There is little question in my mind that in the depths of his shallow soul, Doug Ford, like his philosophical father Mike Harris, believes that government 'interference' is what makes the lives of people difficult. Indeed, that could help explain the following remarkable exchange, posted by Daniel Enright on Twitter. As you will see, it appears that within his own government, Ford seems to have contracted out his policy-making. That, of course, begs the question, "Who is really running the show in Ontario?"

Please forgive the duplication of each preceding message, as that is what the Twitter embed codes gave me.

  1. Anyone who has followed the Ford brothers for more than a decade should not be shocked by this exchange, Lorne. The most significant phrase was "the forest industry."

Business calls the shots. Ford is their spokesman.

    1. Ford is like the old RCA logo of the dog Nipper, listening for his master's voice, Owen.

  2. That does sound awfully familiar, doesn't it? The buffoon in Washington acts on what he last heard of Fox & Friends. Your guy goes by what "somebody" told him.

    Have Mercy.

    1. We're drowning here in Ontario, both literally and figuratively, Mound, and Doug Ford is tossing out concrete life savers.

  3. .. mr Enright has a new follower..

These are very special examples re 'our' elected 'public servants' .. I use 'italics' a lot these days.. re 'our' anything - political or public servants. Questions are great.. so is 'response' .. my early AM has been consumed in regard to 'questions' .. and/or whether I actually have a grasp on 'answers' or legitimate personal observations.. (or do I actually offer any solutions..

In an earlier response to the estimable Mound.. I raised the strange notion of letting or allowing 'self regulatory' to be a thing.. whether extraction, mining, environmental.. uh.. Climate Change Reality.. come to think of it.. why do we let political parties be 'self-regulating' .. or the party that wins the horse race and forms 'government' for a while.. like why would we expect 'our dreams, needs and wishes' to be theirs ? Even after we pay their salaries, pensions.. daily expenses, house them, feed them, transport them.. and stroke them like special furry pets via MainMedia

    1. Your point is well-taken, Sal. The virtual dictatorship that majority government has devolved into cries out for remediation. Sadly, the most obvious solution, an elimination of the first-past-the-post addiction, was nixed by the man so stoutly advocating change in the last election, Justin Trudeau.

I guess, like the metaphorical apple in the Garden of Eden, the allure of great power was too strong to resist.
