If The Shoe Fits

For some strange reason, this resonates with me:

  1. Cowards, thieves, fools, liars and tyrants. What then is the foil? A leader who is brave, faithful, intelligent, honest and dutiful? Isn't that the person they all pretend to be? It is only after we've given them the nod that we discover, again, that we've been had.

    1. For a long time now, Mound, it seems that democracy has delivered less of its potential and more of its cruel jokes.

  2. Believe it or not, I miss Manitoba's ex-Premier Sellinger. He was far from perfect and the media and members of his own party latched on to that with a vengeance. He lacked the smooth, youthful and easy-going style of his predecessor but for the most part, he struck me as hard working, sincere and committed to doing right by his principles including protecting our healthcare services at all costs (part of his downfall due to the increase in the PST). Now we are dealing with a scummy Pallister who has no compassion for the poor and even less tolerance for Indigenous folk. He is gutting healthcare, education and other public services - very depressing to have a Harper clone at the helm in this province.

It's been a long while since I visited many of my favourite blog sites. I kind of lost the habit when I got super bust followed by a hard drive failure and then more business. I was pleased to see how active the gang of progressive bloggers continues to be. On that note, I wish you a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year, Lorne!

    1. Good to hear from you, Beijing, and all the best in to New Year to you as well.

I have a friend in Winnipeg with whom I speak regularly, and he shares your assessment of Pallister.

  3. .. what astonishes me more..
is they not only want your vote
and have all your personal data
they want your $ donation as well

.. plus call or knock on your door
at 6:30 PM on Saturday or Sunday..

    Bad manners ? Rude ? Crude ?

As a lovely & very old woman I was visiting
once said to such crass partisans at her door
    .. "I don't feel very generous today..
maybe you'd best come back another day
    after you've accomplished something useful"

    1. I love the lady's response, Sal. I shall remember it the next time the politicos come a-calling.
