For Your Consideration

In a time when reflexive rather than reflective responses are elicited by some of our politicians, a little food for thought from Patrick Corrigan. Axe the tax, spike the hike, bring it home and other such mindless slogans may never be quite the same again.

  1. It's a given that prospective elected officials have little idea of the state of the coffers they wish to control.
That said; to promise or at least suggest you have the answers to the meaning of life! is mere bullshitting.
Lets face it those that control the flow of wealth and prosperity are those that control the flow of monies within and without Canada!
    Case in point.
The cities that fell over themselves in competition to attract Amazon distribution centres.
At the end of the day these multinationals who came and promised the world leave often with a huge clean up bill or taxpayer bill for the infrastructure created to feed them.
Non of our canadian political parties dare cross the high finance or multinationals!

    1. Agreed, Anon. That is one of the key reasons that the multinationals are not held to account when it comes to their carbon footprint. Case in point: the heavily subsidized fossil fuel industry.

  3. Maybe, Anon, but I rather like the sentiment it expresses.

  5. So the CBC and other MSM media will be out across the country Monday looking for anger and threats, stirring up panic and fear on behalf of Poilievre.
