Breaking News!

Given the failure of police to stare down the hijackers in Windsor, Public Safety Minister Bill Blair says we are going to have to learn "to live with blockades."

  1. I understand the concern about police forces being overwhelmed in the current situation. Maybe laws need to be updated. similar to photo radar, just take a picture of the vehicle and charge the owner. For the tractors blockading 402 just confiscate them. They’re not allowed on 400 series highways.

    1. I think confiscation seems to be the only choice at this point, UU. Nothing else seems to be serving as a deterrent to the current actions.

  3. We have laws. We have the Riot Act, part of the Criminal Code. The feds have the Emergencies Act that covers both natural disasters and "public order" emergencies. The prime minister won't invoke it. Those truckers haven't occupied Wellington Street because they don't like Mayor Watson.

    1. If the police can't do anything, it is time for Trudeau to call in the military, Mound. People expect real leadership at a time like this and respect for the idea of peace, order and good government.
