To All Would-Be Bloggers

I'm feeling a bit stale these days in my blogging, and so would like to step back a little bit from daily posts. For those of you who do not have your own blog but like writing informed commentary, such as I often receive from some regular contributors, please feel free to submit guest posts to me. You can use the blogger contact form seen at the left side of this site or the comment form that appears at the bottom of each post. You may choose to remain anonymous, or use your full name or a pseudonym. The only thing I ask is that you respect the tone that I try to adhere to in this blog. And, of course, I do reserve the right to edit material submitted.

I look forward to hearing from you.

  1. I know the feeling Lorne, and have offered the same to my readers (not near the volume of yours I suspect) with little uptake. I am not sure at this point if that means we are beating out heads against the wall or if Canadians are just reluctant to express any views that don't correspond with the "official" view. Given the commentary on many media sites it seems probable that actually making a meaningful commentary on where we as a country is headed is beyond most folks. Never the less I hope to see some fresh voices on your site!

    1. Thanks for your comments, Rural. I so far received one expression of interest that may lead to a guest post. I do hope people continue to be engaged in the important issues of our times; it's just that I kind of feel some new perspectives would be welcome.

  2. .. just a suggestion Lorne .. as your invite and generosity is much appreciated.. The twitter world is incendiary, or at least the #cdnpoli world which interests me.. as is my twitter 'home' feed - which is approx 300 some tweeters - among which I hope are the main & critical Indy bloggers. From those tweets & those of respected journos, I often find links to critical articles, research, opinion.. even dissension or new perspective

The point being.. twitter is an alternate connection that could break the 'stalemate' .. I am working twitter very, very aggressively despite being a visual artist & writer.. and well past expert level with Photoshop or Final Cut Pro video editing & web ready encoding. Why? Because I value the immediacy and rapid fire aspects.. its hand to hand exchange in the 'written' boreal or rain forest media.

Twitter is a complementary realm to your Indy blog & it would be great to see your commenters and guest contributers dial it into your Indy realm

    1. Thanks for your observations, Salamander. I also use my twitter feed for links to a variety of topics, most especially political and climate change articles and commentary. I often find things that I likely would not have come upon if left to my own devices. I understand that there are some changes coming soon to Twitter, in that the 140 character limit will no longer include the actual links, which will probably allow for a bit more commentary than its current iteration permits.
