The Member Of Ford And Harper Nation No One Likes To Talk About

I'm sure this guy would get along famously with Earl Cowan.

One does wonder about what is in Etobicoke's drinking water, though.

  1. I think few would disagree with that assessment, Carsten. They say that politics makes for strange bedfellows, but this guy's values set a new low.

  2. "And that's what lifes about and that's what politics is about" There's a classier political diplomat who would have disagreed with this jerk. It was Ken Taylor and we have been given sad news today, because he passed away.

    1. That is very sad news, Pamela. I just finished reading the chapter In Party of One dealing with Harper's dismantling of our diplomatic traditions; Ken Taylor and many other diplomats, to say the least, were not impressed.

    2. That's true Lorne. Harper is trying to turn Canadian Ambassadors and Diplomats into salesmen/women and of course their disgusted.. A bit of trivia. Donald Sutherland and Ken Taylor roomed together at UofT. I think it was Trudeau Sr. that appointed Ken Taylor.

    3. Very interesting, Pamela. As Johnny Carson used to say, "I did not know that."

As for the commercialization of the diplomatic corp, I don't think there is a deal that this present incarnation of Tories would look askance at, unless there was some political advantage.
