It feels eerily voyeuristic to stand, powerless, on the sidelines watching these events unfold day by day. Has this descended into the realm of "creeping normalcy" where even the most serious change loses significance? Have we become inured to worsening?
Probably that is true for some, Mound, but such reports about the power and fury of nature and the powerlessness of technology to effectively adapt to it fills me only with an ongoing and deep sense of horror as I contemplate the reality swiftly barreling down on us.
