Ignorance Is Strength
That seems to be what Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party presidential candidate, seems to be arguing in yet another interview in which he makes Dondald Trump, by contrast, look like Mensa material:

In a nation in which, as Chris Hedges points out, 80% of families do not buy even one book in any given year, ignorance is no great drawback. The movie, "Idiocracy," was intended to be satirical. My kids looked at me oddly when I asked them to give me a copy for Christmas 2014. Now they understand that the Old Man wasn't actually off his rocker.
ReplyDeleteI think you have mentioned the movie before, Mound. I will make a point of viewing it. The sad devolution of intelligence and/or consciousness in the U.S. is perhaps an inevitable manifestation of a culture addicted to 'reality' shows, celebrity comings and goings, etc., eh?
