Forget What Your Grandparents Told You

.... about going through five-foot drifts of snow as they walked ten miles to school. They never had to deal with conditions like this:

    1. I am always struck by the intrinsic kindness of people when acting as individuals, Mound. The problem seems to begin when goodness emanates from government policy. Perhaps it is the impersonal nature of such that gives people licence to complain about those who need help (the homeless, the poor, refugees, etc]?
