Apparently, Stephen Harper feels that Canadians are real whores for tax cuts:
Stephen Harper is kicking off a quiet day on the federal election campaign trial by promising tax relief for service club members.I'm sure that will make the disaffected vets much, much happier.
Harper says members of organizations such the Kiwanis, Lions and Royal Canadian Legion can claim a tax break for their membership fees if the Conservatives are re-elected.
Hmm, let me see.... the tax on a small membership fee for someone making a modest living amounts to a few cents or less, what a wonderful tax break for those that volunteer hundreds of hours to help their community..
ReplyDeleteThe magnanimity of the Harper regime almost leaves me speechless, Rural.
DeleteShould start the rumour that taking the tax-credit will make the service clubs subject to C-377.
ReplyDeleteThat, and how about a CRA audit thrown in for no extra cost, Icy?
DeleteI don't think he has a clue about what he's doing Lorne. He sounds like he's making up as he goes along. Yeah, that real leadership!
ReplyDeleteI suspect they are getting desperate, Pamela, to shore up their eroding support even among their base.
DeleteI'm thinking this long campaign will ultimately be Harper's undoing.
ReplyDeleteWhatever it takes to bribe old white men to vote for the Conservatives. What a turd.
ReplyDeleteUU4077 and Anon: I don't know about you, but I'm waiting for him to announce tax breaks for those who adopt dogs and cats - now that is real community service! And will there be something for those who cut their lawns regularly, trim their hedges, and take out their garbage? All bespeak community service to me.
