.. Toby Barrett recently posted an 'apology' to Twitter re the deleted post.. Well uh.. it was a 'its disappointing that people misconstrued' try.. As I've mentioned via Twitter, its likely the first time the word 'beer' has ever appeared in the same sentence as 'D-Day'
ReplyDeleteToby is from the Port Dover - Simcoe area.. I knew him fairly well back in the day - at University of Guelph, as we hung in somewhat the same crowd socially. I was not surprised at his early progress & success in the political world and noted he was achieving that in his home areas.. and looking out for sensible & needed local needs. So he goes back almost to the days before Doug Ford got out of diapers
Its disturbing to me.. the obvious willingness of the current Ford cohort to debase themselves via mainstream media. I'm also puzzled why a steady good man like Michael Chong, at the federal level, has not walked across the floor to become an Independant MP. I say this too as I know Wellington County, Ontario.. yes I do. Just as I know Toby Barrett's home turf.. I know who the people are.. there are just a huge majority that are rock solid honest as daylight citizens. My lovely
partner knows the country inside out from Tobermorey all the way south to Windsor and eastward towards Guelph.. She has the same perceptions. I also 'know' other locales.. the prairies, Alberta & BC.. have family & friends and I myself have lived & worked in all of them.. heritage and hard work.. we (the black Irish) been there, done it, got the t-shirt and the tattoo.. and the gravestones are there & never lie
I mention this in context to Edmonton, Alberta.. where it seems people 'vote the party' federally - like Conservative.. Michael Cooper. But the same essential riding provincially voted NDP. How does that make any sense ? But then how does Toby Barrett's ridiculous tweet make any sense ? Why would he put such a ridiculous statement out in public ? Loyalty to Doug Ford's preposterous 'leadership' ?
As far as voting goes.. and all obvious ancillary chicanery, propaganda, sheer deceit, manipulation, grooming and gooning via Main Media.. how does an obvious posturing presumptuous multi millionaire Andrew Scheer get a single vote? Are people that stupid, partisan, or just 'voting the party' ? Same with another carpetbagger piece of work like Jason Kenney. Its like people will vote the party or vote based on some bullshit poll.. out of some forlorn stale vestigial 'loyalty' to something that once was, stood for something or anything.
I'm getting angrier and angrier by the hour.. at how archaic and rotted our political system has become.. We see the obvious end result in Donald Trump and the GOP.. and that the 'Conservatives' (I call them ReformerTories) are embracing & importing any and all American electoral scams, frauds, procedural tricks, 'war chests', manipulations etc should be seen as pure poison
