The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has launched a new tip line to encourage the public to report illegal immigration and criminal activity related to undocumented individuals. The hotline, operated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), can be reached at 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423). This initiative aims to assist law enforcement in locating and apprehending illegal aliens. The DHS has issued public statements urging citizens to use the tip line to help restore law and order. If you're a real American, Uncle Sam wants you to do your patriotic duty. Be vigilant and report all those you suspect are foreign invaders. (The English teacher in me will not carp on the obvious redundancy here, but I have never heard of domestic invaders). One also notes that the deportation criteria have expanded to include all undocumented immigrants as criminals, something that has no basis in law.
Here is an example of the authorities' zeal for 'purifying' Amerika.
Can loyalty oaths be far behind?
After Trump was first elected, it was widely reported that his golf clubs hired illegal aliens as cheap labour on grounds crews. Raids on Mar-a- Lago, Bedminster and Doral ought to stir up a hornets nest.
ReplyDeleteThere would be some justice in that, Sumi, but I wouldn't hold my breath that Trump will allow any personal repercussions from his deranged policy. No doubt the immigrants in his employ are "very fine people."
DeleteJoe McCarthy would be proud.
ReplyDeleteOf course, some nasty people might report someone like Ted Cruz as a possible illegal alien.I mean, he was born in Alberta; he looks suspicious and has a Latino name.
I wonder how many people one could rat on before Ice realizes the US economy is starting to show cracks. A lot of the labour in various parts of the agricultural/food processing area is highly dependent on undocumented aliens.
I suspect the same is true in parts of the construction industry. A friend of mine said he was running a 20-30 man demolition crew in the DC area years ago and no one, including him, from El Salvador, was a legal US resident. Luckily, after being arrested by ICE, he managed to get to Canada apparently with the help of Brian Mulroney and the Gov't of Canada but I've never heard the details.
From what I read, Anon, Trump is now reconsidering his anti-immigrant zeal as it affects certain sectors, including farm and hospitality work. When some of his supporters are suffering, Trump acts with dispatch.
