Another Reminder Of The Regime Under Which We Chafe
I hope none of us forgets this, just one small part of the Harper programme to promote ignorance, stifle informed discussion, and ravage the environment.
This destruction of original manuscripts, some over two hundred years old, is not only a crime against Canadians but a crime against humanity.
The Harperites are engaged in a war against not only science, but Canadian intellectualism in general. The most obvious historical parallel is the Nazi book burnings of 1933.
We should be gathering evidence now to be used against the Harperites after they are defeated, so that we are prepared before their trials begin.

"A crimes against humanity" is probably the best description I have heard for this depredation. Thanks, Anon.
