In The Realm Of Canadian Political Whoredom

I nominate Minister of Environment and Climate Change Catherine Mckenna as Queen:

And here is what she had to say after news of the Trudeau climate betrayal emerged:

Prostitutes are renowned for weaving fantasies. In that regard, McKenna is clearly and most eminently qualified.

    1. Maybe I'm being obtuse here, UU, but I fail to see how this version of a carbon tax is an inducement for industry to lower its emissions.

  2. I knew she wasn't to be trusted when, at the end of her first conference with Alberta and BC's environment ministers to sell carbon pricing she tucked her tail between her legs and fled, bleating "national unity, national unity." It was bad enough that we had one "Get Out of Jail Free" card. Now we've added another, competitiveness. What, do they have nightmares of American cement trucks pouring across our border to exploit carbon tax-burdened giants like LeFarge? Really?

It is good to know that they're ready to tackle coastal erosion from the thawing Arctic Ocean and sea level rise. And what a solution they've got - armadas of supertankers delivering the most toxic, filthy, high-carbon ersatz petroleum on the planet, bitumen.

Poor McKenna. She can't keep up simply by talking out of both sides of her mouth. Now she also has to talk out of her ass.

This self-serving timidity is what caused the Dems to lose a lot of independent support to Trump. That was a self-inflicted wound. Trudeau and his cadre seem to want to hand Scheer the same advantage. But, don't worry, it'll all be the voters' fault.
