Reflections, Observations, and Analyses Pertaining to the Canadian Political Scene
What's with calling anyone who disagrees with her an elite. I do not call leitch and her cohorts conservatives. They are Reform/Alliance. Probably the most unsophisticated, talentless hicks that Canadians have ever seen in any political party.I understand your complete disgust for her Lorne. The fact that she thinks that she can be the leader of a political party, as inept as it is, shows that she does not have a clue about how people view her. She is so lacking in self-monitoring and/or introspection that she feels no shame or embarrassment at what she is saying. Wouldn't it be great if what she wants to do to new immigrants, i.e. vetting them for Canadian values, that Canadians could vet her for everything. Intelligence, integrity, historical and political knowledge, compassion, commom sense, Canadianism, independence, respect for others and just good old Canadian politeness. She would come up empty! If the Reform/Alliance are reaching in the bottom of the barrel, in their leadership campaign then they've found their winner.
Your excoriating comments are most apt, Pamela. I have always been of the belief, given her lack of self-awareness and introspection, that there appears to be something missing from her psychological makeup. I will leave it at that.
So thankful for your remarks. Needed them after hearing a Lietch spokesman on the CBC today, which left me with such anger, I was beside myself. And why does Rona think the U.S would be an "ally" of Canada or any other country with Trump (henceforth known as *) as pres along with his wretched despicable henchmen. Time to start wearing a visible safety pin ( which is becoming known as a symbol for common decency) on my clothing. Pen
Now, more than ever, Anon, it is important that all of us stand up for decency and tolerance in whatever ways we can. While the hard right likes to 'insult' progressives with the label of 'elites,' and demonize those who call Trump for what he is, we should wear the label proudly if it sets us apart from the abysmally ignorant and racist. While I readily admit that the election of Trump temporarily took the wind out of my sails, I feel my fighting spirit returning.
