May This Day Never Come

I pray we never get to the day when scenes like the following become so commonplace that we regard them with only the passing interest we might today express in a rocket launch, and not the shock, awe and humbling that they undoubtedly merit:

  1. How can that day not arrive, Lorne? We have an enormous capacity to inure ourselves to these things. Repetition = normalcy. It all blurs to the point where you quickly forget the town or state, sometimes even the nation affected.

    1. The only way to protect oneself from becoming inured to these scenes of destruction is, in my opinion, Mound, to see that the relative proximity of these events means that it could happen to you. Empathy hard won?
