The Prime Minister's Character (Or Lack Thereof) - UPDATED

What does it say about a man who flees the country before he will answer even one question about perceived corruption in his regime? Is "I knew nothing' even remotely credible?

Probably about as believable as the most recent words of denial from the mouth of this reprobate:

P.S. Harper describes himself as "frustrated" about the scandal. Perhaps now he might begin to understand how millions of Canadians feel about him and his government.

UPDATE: Here are some embarrassing details that were included in the original Deloitte report about the disgraced Senator before it was altered on orders originating 'at the highest levels.'

  1. The interesting thing is that even if Harper was telling the truth that he did not know about the payment (I do not believe that), very few people would believe him anymore.

He would have been far better off to have admitted that it was unacceptable and that it happened under his watch and really groveled. Instead he came across as being angry, frustrated and sorry because he was caught. And he should have done it in Canada, not in Peru.

Did you ever wonder why Wright apparently wanted a record of his payment (surely he must be smart enough to know what writing a cheque meant)? At the very least, he was establishing a trail that led to the PMO. Was he worried about getting his $90K back?

  2. Harper and his government do not respect the middle class or those who are poor in Canada. He is arrogant and in need to have everyone at his command. When did his party join the overlords world club?

    1. I suspect, Anon, that the Conservative Party that emerged from the amalgamation of Reform and Progressive Conservatives sees itself as yet another part of that select group known as 'Masters of the Universe.' I guess it is not for us to question such greatness.

  3. 1215 Magna Carta Libertatum - the King was not above the law. Fast forward 2013 - the Ruler's personal partisan agency, the PMO, operates outside of - even above - the law. Secretive, unaccountable, immune from prosecution.

    1. And I am sure that the perversion known as the Conservative Party of Canada feels that is exactly as it should be, Mound.

  4. I am in compete agreement with everything you say here, Anon. The part that I find especially galling is that he now has his trained seals saying that Harper learned about the cheque at the same time the media did. Left unexplained by the scriptwriters is why the P.M continued to support Nigel Wright after he 'learned' of the cheque. And of course, his acolytes, until late last weekend, talked about how honourable Wright was in making the cheque to Duffy because the government did not want the taxpayers to take the hit for Duffy's fraud.

Makes no sense at all unless the entire story is a tissue of lies.
